Roberto Mancini has returned to lead the Italy national team on a contract running until 2030, naming a 34-player squad featuring ten potential debutants for upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures. The selection reached ten uncapped names after Matteo Ruggeri was brought in to replace the injured Federico Dimarco ahead of matches against Belgium, France, and Turkey.
Squad Overhaul and Youth Integration Underpin Second Tenure
The expanded group reflects an immediate pivot toward younger profiles as the Azzurri prepare for rigorous group-stage encounters. Several experienced members have been left out of the initial selection to allow the coaching staff to evaluate emerging talent under competitive pressure from the outset.
The squad enters a demanding stretch of fixtures within the UEFA Nations League A1 Group, meeting Belgium, France, and Turkey home and away during the current international window.
