Arsenal Women seal 2028 FIFA Club World Cup qualification
Arsenal women have secured qualification for the inaugural FIFA Women’s Club World Cup following their triumphs in European competition. FIFA formally confirmed the inclusion on October 22, 2026, placing the club into a newly established global quadrennial tournament.
The 19-team competition is scheduled to run across venues in the United States from January 5 to January 30, 2028. Matches will bring together elite sides representing all six global football confederations.
Slot Distribution Across Global Confederations
Europe commands the largest share of the tournament with six allocated places, determined by Women’s Champions League titles and club rankings across the 2024 to 2027 cycle. Asia, Africa, Concacaf, and South America receive three slots each, while Oceania claims a single place.
Alongside Arsenal, initial participants confirmed by governing bodies include Barcelona, Club América, Gotham FC, Corinthians, Naegohyang Women’s FC, and Wuhan Jiangda. Twelve positions remain available as qualification pathways continue through ongoing domestic and continental calendars.
Daily Cannon reported the tournament confirmation.
