Two Points Clear of Drop Zone, Vitória Sack Head Coach Jair Ventura
Vitória officially severed ties with head coach Jair Ventura on Monday following a 2-0 defeat to Coritiba on Saturday. Ventura leaves the Salvador-based side in 14th place in the Brasileirão table, holding 38 points with just five fixtures left in the campaign.
Vitória Restructure Ahead of Final Five Fixtures
The decision to part ways with the manager comes as the club sits a mere two points clear of 17th-placed Corinthians (36 points) in the Serie A relegation zone. Ventura, who took charge on September 24, 2025, had been the fifth longest-serving manager in the Brazilian top flight prior to his dismissal.
The squad faces an urgent turnaround at the Barradão, where they host Fluminense on Friday. Vitória’s remaining run-in includes home fixtures against RB Bragantino and Santos, alongside away trips to face Internacional and Vasco.
